Iām excited to share that my online course āDevelopment reporting in science communicationā is open for enrolments again this yearāstarting September 5th!
Offered by the Institute of Continuing Education at the University of Cambridge, the course is geared towards science journalists interested in international development as a specialisation or potential career pathāas well as professionals involved in science or development projects who need good grounding in theĀ overlap between these fields.
But really, itās a deep dive into global development and science reporting for anyone with a professional interest in the overlap of those topics.
Each cohort so far has been incredibly diverse, with participants from all sorts of backgrounds in terms of specialism and location. Iāve loved how that brings different perspectives into each weekās discussion.
Iāll be happy to answer any questions about the courseājust hit reply and ask.
What past students say:
"The course exceeded my expectations, especially during the beginning. Even as a professional scientist and journalist, much of the information was novel to me."
"Anita really knows her stuff, and I was actually not expecting the course to be so in depth with development and science. It's a very impressive cocktail of topics, and I love how she ties in real-life examples."
"I loved the way she highlighted throughout the course the power dynamics that exist in development contexts. As a researcher from the Global South, this is remarkable."
"It was very professionally run and presented in an interesting way."
"First of all, Anita, thank you for the very informative course! There was a lot of general and specific information for all of the levels...if you want to dig deeper there is always the Related Reading section with lots of additional information and useful links."
