It was a tense few hours that grabbed mainstream media headlines. Yevgeniy Prigozhin, leader of Wagner, a prominent Russian mercenary group, was leading a mutiny against Vladimir Putin.

The insurrection ended up being short-lived, and Prigozhin was exiled to Belarus. But it caused anxiety and raised questions about the knock-on effect in parts of Africa and the Middle East.
