China is strengthening ties around the world.
The latest sign is the opening of an embassy by Honduras in Beijing, some months after the Central American country broke diplomatic ties with Taiwan. The leaders of the new countries also signed 17 bilateral agreements in a range of sectors with the aim of boosting Honduras’ economy.
Analysts see the new relationship as a diplomatic victory for China as it grows its influence in Latin America.
