Much of the world admitted a long time ago that thereβs no use trying to get rid of Covid-19βit was here to stay, and the task at hand was to keep case counts low.
China has been charting its own path, insisting on a strategy of elimination and attracting criticism left and right (though truth be told, it doesnβt take much for China to attract criticism in Western media).
That involves draconian measures whenever the virus flares up. But itβs been more than two years now. And as the rest of the world has moved on to a stage where free movement is possible, Chinese citizens are taking notice.
And so we have rare rumblings of revolt.
