It was a long time ago.
But sometimes I get reminded of what it was like to be part of a rowing crew.
The training was pretty serious—daily 5am wake-ups for sessions at the gym or practising on an erg machine. Weather permitting, we would get to practise on the water.
Going out with the boat was my favourite part by a mile. As the occasional races drew closer our drills got more intense, building up from rows of a few hundred meters to at least a couple of kilometres.
